Yes! The Stephanie Buddle Designer Jewellery Gallery is now open!  It has been a long time in the planning – and has taken a huge move to the other side of the world to achieve – but now at last you can visit the gallery in person, and buy Stephanie’s unique jewellery in her very own chic and bijou new showroom, next to the workshop where it is made!  You can’t get work any fresher than that!

Garden

Situated at the highest part of Burn Cottage Road, Cromwell, the gallery is approached through a beautifully tree-lined, almost park-like setting, and is a typically charming Central Otago style building with verandah. The feel is one of a real craft ‘destination’ which enjoys glorious views of the Pisa Range to the North-West, and back down the valley towards the old gold mining township of Cromwell (make sure you visit the historic ‘Old Town’).

Burn Cottage Road itself is one of Cromwell’s most delightful rural areas – stand outside the gallery looking at the hills and listening to the bellbirds, and you could almost turn the clock back to those gold rush days!  The gallery is very accessible however, being an easy five minute drive from the town centre (approx 5km). The ‘Burn Cottage Loop’  is also a glorious cycle ride from Cromwell or Lowburn, with the lovely Lake Dunstan and State Highway 6 being only 3 kilometers down the hill. Top holiday destinations Queenstown and Wanaka are virtually equidistant from the gallery and both are around 45 minutes’ delightful drive away. In addition Burn Cottage Road is now being tar sealed making it much easier to visit.

Inside the gallery

Inside, the gallery just oozes style and sophistication, a fantastic contrast to the rustic charm of the building itself with it’s typically kiwi rough-sawn timber, stone and iron clad exterior.

Jewellery

Stephanie has taken the best elements of her mobile display (well known to her UK customers from top shows like Art in Action) and expanded them to create a high-quality and visually stunning display of her exciting colour collections.

Red Roxy collection

The gallery is now open every week from Thursdays to Saturdays  11am to 4pm.   It is often open on occasional Sundays as well so look out for the open sign when driving by. Tiki tours and groups are very welcome too on any day, so just phone to make an arrangement and a warm welcome will await you with tours of the workshop and gardens as well!  But please, if you have an important gift to buy or commission, or need to visit at other times, do please get in touch. Stephanie is more than happy to greet guests by appointment, and it goes without saying that previous customers will all be very welcome indeed.

So there it is: the Gallery is OPEN and Stephanie looks forward to seeing you all. Please note that at present payment by cash or cheque is preferred as eftpos has not yet been put in place. (This helps keep prices to you lower, which we all like!). Stephanie is sure you will agree when you get here that it is truly a great craft “destination” and a worthy addition to the hidden treasures of Central Otago!
